Forklift/Stacker Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., producer of the Yellawood brand, is seeking a forklift operator for a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefit package. The role involves operating a forklift to move materials within the warehouse, including unloading trucks, loading for production, moving product, and loading trucks for shipment. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities as a stacker operator, managing a control system to move layers through a machine and into units, manually operating controls, and understanding the system's efficiency. The role may also require moving plywood or boards as needed.
Requirements
- Previous forklift experience
- Must have previous forklift experience
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Lumber experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Use pedals to go forward and backwards as well as be able to navigate a warehouse.
- Use hydraulic controls to lift, tilt, and shift product for stacking or movement.
- Unload trucks and place product into the warehouse.
- Load for production.
- Move product around the warehouse.
- Load trucks for logistics to ship to customers.
- Run the control system to move layers through the machine and into units.
- Manually operate controls at the operator station.
- Understand how the system works to keep the line running efficiently.
- Move plywood or boards around if needed.
