About The Position

Owens Corning, global in scope - human in scale. We’re an international company, with solid roots in North Platte and we’ve got opportunities for a few dynamic people to join our local team. The role involves adequately and efficiently transporting product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility, ensuring all product is transported in a safe manner. This includes safely and efficiently emptying trash throughout the plant multiple times per day, coordinating sawdust and trash removal with outside companies, conducting pre-shift inspections of the forklift, and providing safe operation of the forklift throughout the facility while abiding by all safety rules and regulations. The position may also require replacing pallets/runners as necessary, performing other related duties as assigned, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior forklift operation in manufacturing environment
Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities
Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
Ability to multi-task
Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have shift flexibility
Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
Climb and descend forklift as needed
Lift 50 pounds as needed
Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60 pounds)
Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently empty trash throughout the plant multiple times per day
Coordinate sawdust removal and trash removal with outside companies
Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
Must be able to work extended hours and overtime as needed if business need requires
Replace pallets/runners as necessary to maintain a safe working environment
Will also perform other related duties as assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the job description
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned
