About The Position

Lignetics, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator for a temporary role. This position involves operating a forklift to move, stack, and transport products, equipment, and materials within a warehouse or factory setting. The operator will be responsible for pre-shift equipment checks, maintaining a clean work environment, accurate loading and verification of shipments, and assisting in other production areas as needed. The role requires good coordination, the ability to concentrate, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform simple math calculations. The operator will also be responsible for basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

Requirements

  • Good eye, hand and foot coordination.
  • Must be able to pass the company forklift training.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multi-task.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
  • Required to read and interpret scales.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust the weight and timing of bailer and various other simple maintenance problems.
  • Requires the ability to do simple math calculations.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric-powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices.
  • Push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory.
  • Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
  • Transport loads to designated areas.
  • Ensure propane tanks are filled and forklift equipment is properly checked before shift start.
  • Grease fittings if needed.
  • Stack all raw materials in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Sweep the warehouse daily and empty trash bins when full.
  • Ensure trucks loaded have proper paperwork (packing slips and weight ticket) before loading.
  • Count and recount all trucks loaded with another associate, with both persons signing off on verification.
  • Attach packing slips to all loads and enclose packing slip.
  • Attach load seals to all trucks before the truck leaves the dock area.
  • Stack plywood during the teardown of pods and band/stack full plywood racks for later use.
  • Work on and record re-stacks and bags returned to the system daily.
  • Wear seat belts at all times and operate the lift at a safe speed.
  • Stack junk pallets and put them in their proper place.
  • Clean up warehouse at the end of shift.
  • Assist other production areas as needed.
  • Move and wrap completed products.
  • Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
