About The Position

Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods. Makes ready, operates, and maintains the Unitizer. Observes and monitors basic machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine if adjustments are needed. Identifies, troubleshoots, and corrects product defects caused by the machine. Performs basic routine adjustments and identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine. Sets up and operates the machine meeting established published specifications. Ensures all units are completed to specifications, including special instructions if applicable. Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift, pull packs, or other power equipment. Maintains the facilities’ equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assists in physical inventories. Maintains housekeeping standards at all times. Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Complies with all IP’s Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols. Keeps appropriate records and reports (completes forms, logs, and records accurately – as required). Responsible for managing the waste of the department. Performs other duties as assigned by managers and/or supervisors/shift leaders.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to perform and sustain productivity goals (keep the line running, zero downtime, etc).
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal assistance.
  • Provide daily feedback to supervisor regarding all aspects of shift/machine activity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Able to interpret and understand Kiwi Factory Floor Feedback (Machine line up).
  • Able to read and understand IRF Unit Tracking system.
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division.
  • Must have ability to learn and understand all operations of the unitizer.
  • Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must have ability to understand and accurately utilize KIWI.
  • Must be dependable and reliable – should not have more than 4 attendance points.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be needed during busy periods.
