About The Position

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Forklift Operator for their 3rd shift. This role is primarily responsible for operating forklift equipment, setting up the debone area, and transporting finished product. The position requires strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations. Wayne-Sanderson Farms is a leading poultry producer with a strong history and a commitment to its employees and the community.

Requirements

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
Forklift certified.
Must wear required PPE (Hairnet, smock, earplugs).
Ability to stand up to 8 hours.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC).
Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
Ability to work around raw, live animal odors.
Ability to roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.).

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Relative poultry industry experience.
Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

Setting up the debone area with coolant and tubs.
Transporting finished product to the scales and manifest area.
Moving product to be reworked.
Maintaining the forklift in a sanitary manner and replacing the battery when needed.
Working cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Following directions and working in other departments as needed.
