About The Position

Forklift Operator II is responsible for loading and unloading material on trucks and rail cars and maintaining accurate paperwork and shipping and receiving records. The role works under immediate supervision and follows specific directions and instructions. It also involves moving products between storage and work areas, preparing and labeling material for shipment, performing basic equipment maintenance, and keeping the yard organized and clean.

Requirements

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete the Forklift Driver licensing process.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Six months to one year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and rail cars.
• Move material and other products between storage and work areas as required.
• Break packs to the correct size and label material before loading products onto trucks or rail cars.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete preshift startup equipment checklists and report problems or concerns.
• Maintain an organized and clean yard.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follow forklift rules and policies described by Company policy.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
