About The Position

Load and unload trucks according to company standards and customer requirements, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and safely. This role involves operating a forklift/pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner, performing all required safety and pre-trip checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position also requires assisting with inventory management, performing check-in duties, and maintaining proper records. The Forklift Operator will work in a team-oriented atmosphere and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year forklift driving experience.
  • Licensed and trained to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to safely maneuver forklift in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of warehouse process and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of materials management.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload products from trucks, ensuring that product is handled with care to avoid damage.
  • Dock Geo trailers for loading and unloading, following all dock safety procedures.
  • Inspect trailers for damage and verify correct trailer numbers before loading.
  • Load all staged pallets by route into the assigned trailers.
  • Secure the load with load straps every fourth row.
  • Ensure that the correct product and quantities are loaded in order for delivery, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Move trailer from the dock and park in designated parking area once loaded.
  • Assist with the organization and management of inventory within the warehouse, maintaining accurate records and ensuring products are stored correctly.
  • Perform all check-in duties assigned and maintain proper records (receivers, pick tickets, and other usual and customary record keeping) for each individual task according to the warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • Check inventory daily for FEFO (first expired first out) in chilled cooler.
  • Operate a forklift/pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner and perform all required safety and pre-trip checks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that the warehouse is free from hazards and clutter.
  • Work well with others in a team-orientated atmosphere.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
