About The Position

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment. The starting pay for this position is $20.80/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shifts. Requirements

  • Applicants must show six (6) months of forklift experience at one employer in the past 36 months.
  • Applicants will be required to earn forklift certification within 8 weeks of hire to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to stand, walk, bend, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach.
  • Must be willing and able to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. in many areas of production.
  • Must be willing to work in cold temperatures ranging from 20 to 36 degrees.
  • Ability to safely operate foot and hand controls with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment and frequently twist/turns to check surroundings.
  • Ability to repeatedly climb in and out of forklift equipment.
  • Ability to maintain the level of awareness necessary to safely operate a forklift around people, equipment, and moving vehicles, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Move product as directed using pallet jacks, forklifts or other means.
  • Reading/reviews work orders and follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, counted, weighed, put away and recorded.
  • Safely opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer or other hand tools.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
  • Cleans work area, machines and equipment, using broom, rags and other products.
  • Updates database records as required; participate in all department and company training sessions and meetings.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all warehouse operations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners within facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
