About The Position

The Forklift Operator position is responsible for operating a forklift to load and unload trucks, pull product from production lines, and place support materials on each line. This role requires maintaining a clean work area, performing inventory in the freezer, and conducting preventive maintenance on forklifts and batteries. The operator must also be willing to learn the EIM Inventory system and scanning procedures, perform HACCP duties, and potentially drive the location shuttle truck. Flexibility to work in other plant areas as needed is also expected. The job involves working in cold environments and around dust, with a strong emphasis on safety and product care.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate fork truck without causing damage to product or plant equipment.
  • Must be able to load and unload trucks.
  • Must be able and willing to learn EIM Inventory system and scanning of all product movements.
  • Must be able to pull product from production lines.
  • Must be able to place support materials on each line.
  • Must keep work area clean (freezer, cooler, back dock and loading pads).
  • Must be able to perform inventory of freezer.
  • Must be able to perform preventive maintenance on forklift and batteries.
  • Required to perform HACCP duties.
  • Must be willing to work in other areas of the plant when needed.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Three months of consecutive work history with one employer within the last 12 months.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math calculations.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to handle responsibility.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate forklift without causing damage to product or equipment.
  • Must be able to work around breader dust and in a temperature of -10 degrees F or less.

  • May be required to drive location shuttle truck at times.
