About The Position

This role involves operating processing equipment, ensuring its setup, adjustment, maintenance, and configuration according to specifications. It requires regular communication with production personnel and supervisors, and the completion of necessary paperwork. The position operates on a 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Favorable background and drug test.
  • Able and willing to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports and other documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand for long periods of time, sit and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel, sit for long periods of time, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach and turn to access files and office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 lbs.

  • Prior bottling / canning experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Turns on all support equipment necessary to run the facility as needed.
  • Performs visual inspections and completes documentation during the run to ensure defect-free work.
  • Loads corrugate, labels, bottles/cans, glue, carriers etc. into appropriate machines.
  • Performs minor package change-overs on equipment as required, as well as change-over to proper raw material.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment by cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials.
  • Assists line mechanics in machinery repair or other tasks as/if needed.
  • Ensures that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run, including air and conveyor systems.
  • Visually inspects boxes to ensure proper box/tray is used and graphics are acceptable.
  • Monitors the flow of materials into appropriate machines and clears jams if necessary.
  • Ensures proper coding on bottles, cans, boxes/trays, and acceptable graphics where applicable.
  • Ensures closures and lids are properly applied.
  • Verifies flavor and size according to schedule.
  • Reports any major defects to the Lead person and/or Manager.
  • Monitors the machine while running and checks that all bottles and cans are packed into the box correctly.
  • Fills glue pots as necessary.
  • Verifies case code is correct as scheduled.
  • Clears machine of all products at the end of each run and at the end of the shift.
  • Follows work rules and GMP compliance at all times.
  • Reports any quality issue to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager.
  • Assists in relieving other operators for lunch breaks.
  • Keeps work area clean at all times.
  • Shuts down all equipment at the end of the shift if the line is going down for the day.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
