About The Position

We are searching for a qualified Forklift Operator to assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to truck drivers. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self-starter skills will lead to success in this role. This position is primarily for the 1st shift, with working hours typically from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Prior work experience as a forklift operator
  • Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.
  • Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the Forklift.
  • Ensuring work in progress (WIP) is undamaged, and the staging area is maintained organized.
  • Consistently bringing correct size, board grade stacks to machine centers to be ran.
  • Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Locate stock before the start of the run.
  • Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
  • Remove finished goods from machines.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Adhere to daily production schedule.
  • Assist other forklift operators as necessary and is backup to Shipping Lead Person.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
