About The Position

Manitowoc Ice, a Division of Pentair, is hiring a Forklift Operator for its Manitowoc, Wisconsin team. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the operator moves materials by forklift to meet production schedules, company safety requirements, and customer quality expectations. The role involves handling raw materials and finished products, maintaining accurate inventory records, completing paperwork, and following safety and quality procedures. The position works third shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with extended hours and weekends as needed. Starting pay is $24.12 per hour, plus a $1.00 third-shift premium. The posting notes that pay may vary based on achievements, skills, and experience, and that a rate increase may be available after proficiency in certain skills and completion of training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move parts and materials.
• Ability to understand inventory processes.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to safely use tools and pallet trucks.
• Powered Industrial Truck Safety Certification, internally administered, is required.
• Must be knowledgeable about and familiar with applicable ISO and quality system requirements and policies.
• Must wear safety shoes and safety glasses in the manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift according to defined procedures and safety practices.
• Identify and move raw materials and finished products.
• Inspect the forklift and perform preventive maintenance as required.
• Use hand tools and lift and move tools, parts, and materials.
• Use a computer to perform daily job functions.
• Locate materials accurately and complete inventory transactions in Oracle.
• Recharge forklift batteries and/or change propane tanks.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Complete necessary paperwork.
• Demonstrate safe forklift operation and pass a written test on safe forklift operations.
• Demonstrate safe overhead crane operation and pass a written test on safe overhead crane operation.
