About The Position

The Forklift Operator loads and unloads trailers and railcars, transports freight to designated areas, and checks inbound and outbound products for accuracy and damage. The role uses handheld scanners and warehouse equipment to support warehouse management system compliance, assists with inventory counts, and maintains forklift equipment and the facility. The operator follows company procedures and safety guidelines and works cooperatively with other warehouse associates.

This position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The warehouse is not temperature-controlled, so indoor temperatures fluctuate with the seasons. The role may require lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Ability to maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
• Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse where indoor temperatures fluctuate through the seasons.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers and railcars and transport loads to designated areas.
• Check inbound and outbound products to confirm items and quantities are correct and there is no damage.
• Use handheld scanners and other equipment for warehouse management system compliance.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Recharge batteries, fill fuel tanks, or replace gas tanks.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance inspections.
• Follow company procedures and policies to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow company safety policies and guidelines to maintain safe working conditions for self and others.
• Work cooperatively with other warehouse associates.
• Help maintain the facility in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
• Perform additional duties assigned by a supervisor.
