About The Position

The Forklift Operator will follow all plant health and safety standards, including wearing proper PPE and LOTOTO procedures. Responsibilities include loading and unloading of trailers, managing finished goods, managing the shipping and receiving area, managing onsite storage and warehouse locations, tying off bales of scrap and unloading from the baler, weighing scrap and inputting into the weighing station, reading vendor bills of lading, reading daily truck lineups, and maintaining good housekeeping.

Requirements

• Must follow all plant rules including wearing of PPE at all times
• Must have at least 1 year experience with a sit down LPG forklift
• Must follow all LOTOTO procedures including the use of Glad Hand Locks
• Basic reasoning, mathematical, reading, and maintenance skills
• Must be dependable and report to work on-time for start of shift when scheduled
• Must be able to handle product both on and off pallets
• Be able to recognize the different types of pallets used
• Be able to recognize customer specific shipping instructions
• Must be able to read and understand pallet tags and special instructions
• Communicate to supervisor about non-conformities
• Communicate to supervisors about health and safety issues

Nice To Haves

• Corrugated experience recommended
• RF scanners and on-board computer experience highly recommended
