About The Position

Clarios is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. This role involves operating various equipment, including sit-down forklifts and tuggers, to complete daily tasks such as assembling and preparing shipments, weighing and recording shipment details, and checking shipments for accuracy. The operator will also be responsible for preparing bills of lading, routing shipments, contacting carriers, and verifying shipments against packing slips. Additional duties may include routing materials to storage, dispatching company vehicles, making damage and shortage reports, preparing inventory reports, and performing other handling, inventory, and housekeeping duties as assigned. The position requires good judgment and initiative for accurate and efficient work, the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly automated environment, and proficiency with RF scanners. Computer knowledge is a plus, as is the ability to load and unload trucks with a forklift. The role also involves preparing and checking necessary receipts, records, and reports, and learning the operation of all equipment while assisting in various tasks.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 to 6 months experience on a sit-down forklift.
  • Prior sit down forklift experience required, at least 3 to 6-months.
  • Must be able to use RF scanners.
  • Good judgment and initiative are required to perform work accurately and efficiently.
  • Must have the ability to work well in a highly automated, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to load and unload trucks with a forklift is a plus.
  • Manufacturing or large warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a sit-down forklift, a tugger, a hand-truck, and other equipment as required to complete daily tasks.
  • Assemble and prepare shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications.
  • Weigh and record weight on shipping orders.
  • Check shipments for correct material, packing, tagging, addressing, handling, and loading.
  • Prepare bills of lading and other required forms.
  • Route shipments and contact carriers.
  • Verify shipments and receipts against packing slips and bills of lading.
  • Route materials to storage.
  • May dispatch company vehicles.
  • Make damage, shortage, etc. reports, make reports of shipments, prepare inventory reports.
  • May move materials, cartons, etc., with a forklift truck, hand truck, or skid mover as required.
  • Prepare and check necessary receipts, records and reports.
  • Observe methods of accomplishing work and learn operation of all equipment while assisting in various tasks.
  • Transport finished molded parts to prescribed areas, shrink oven, etc. and to locations in warehouse using a sit-down forklift.
