About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and requires securing freight in trailers, scanning and tracking shipments with mobile handheld devices, and following company safety policies. Work takes place on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled, sometimes for extended periods. The position is scheduled for the afternoon shift, 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and requires availability for varying shifts based on freight volume, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Pay starts at $22.85 per hour. Full health insurance benefits are available on day one, along with life and disability insurance, paid time off, paid company holidays, a 401(k) option with company match, and education assistance. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
• Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
