About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Yard Supervisor, this position supports the Inventory department by verifying quantities on outbound shipments, operating, inspecting and fueling the forklifts as well as support the inventory department in all areas of the plant; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience driving a forklift and be company certified.
  • Requires on the job training to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and superiors.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Works overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Checks outbound shipments for accuracy.
  • Conducts cycle counts.
  • Change delivery notes to reflect loading changes and inventory shortages.
  • Helps maintain an accurate and orderly inventory.
  • Participates in semi-annual inventory counts.
  • Inspects, maintains, and fuels forklifts as needed.
  • Empty dump hopper.
  • Adjust fork spacing.
  • Load brick on trucks.
  • Move through the yard, aisles, and cross aisles.
  • Stack product in the yard.
  • Load/Unload supplies
  • Verify tags on pallets.
  • Bring in packaging supplies.
  • Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety.
  • Abides by company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies; and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
