About The Position

InterChange Group, Inc. is hiring a Forklift Operator for its ICCS, Black Stripe cold storage warehouse in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The role pays $19.15 to $22.90 per hour. Available schedules are 12-hour rotating day shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 12-hour rotating night shifts from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.; both schedules include working every other weekend. Training will be provided. Applicants must complete an application and undergo a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read numbers and labels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, pay close attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evenings, and weekends.
• Completion of a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.

Nice To Haves

• One year of forklift experience, particularly with stand-up or sit-down forklifts, in a warehouse or manufacturing environment; experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with RFID.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
• A valid state driver's license is preferred.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment through personal actions.
• Load and unload trucks and containers using provided equipment safely and efficiently.
• Check and count freight for accuracy and damage.
• Take inventory as needed.
• Direct products to the correct area in the warehouse.
• Clear loose wood and plastic from the work area and sweep as needed.
• Report faulty equipment, rack damage, and other safety hazards to a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
