About The Position

The Forklift Operator operates a forklift in an industrial setting, maintaining inventory, prestaging ingredients, and using a handheld scanner. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Requirements

  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to demote or transfer to another shift or line.
  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to promote.
  • No more than four (4) attendance points at the time of job posting, in the last six (6) months.
  • No written warning at the time of job posting within the last six (6) months.
  • No suspensions at the time of job posting within the last six (6) months.
  • Ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands
  • Walking, bending, standing and lifting of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 20lbs over head occasionally
  • Vision abilities include distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Must rotate packaging and ingredients by using the FIFO Inventory Method
  • Reports all damaged product to the supervisor for disposition
  • Clean and inspect outbound trailers
  • Record temperature of cold products assuring they are within specification – if out of spec, must notify supervisor immediately
  • Load trucks with proper allocated products
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for loading of outbound trucks
  • Responsible for safe spotting the yard driver during trailer movement
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
  • Must be able to drive and operate a forklift
  • Communicate with various departments on a regular basis
  • Must be able to accurately record data into a computer-based inventory system
  • Requires basic PC skills to include reading/sending emails and the operation of handheld scanners
