Forklift Operator
About The Position
At York Building Products, we're looking for a skilled, safety-focused Forklift Operator who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that keeps things moving. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and know your way around a forklift, we want to hear from you! This isn't a desk job—and that's what makes it great! Work outdoors and indoors throughout the seasons, experience the elements: sun, rain, wind, heat, and cold, operate heavy equipment and machinery, lift up to 80 pounds, and stay active with walking, bending, climbing, and moving throughout the day.
Requirements
- Previous forklift operating experience
- Take safety seriously and lead by example
- Can read and follow loading tickets and instructions
- Enjoy physical, hands-on work
- Are dependable, motivated, and team-oriented
- Can work overtime when business demands it
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment
- Load and unload trucks with precision and care
- Organize and stage materials for shipment
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Work closely with Supervisors, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure every order is accurate
- Keep the yard and work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company and safety regulations
- Jump in and help wherever needed
