1st Shift Forklift Operator for Distribution
About The Position
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., producer of the Yellawood brand Pressure-Treated Pine, is seeking forklift operators for a full-time position. This role involves driving an industrial forklift truck to move, stack, and transport products, equipment, and materials within the distribution center. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, managing inventory, and supplying workers with necessary items. The company is a leading producer of pressure-treated lumber products serving various retail and professional segments, with a strategic network of facilities across the South, Midwest, and Northeast.
Requirements
- Must have previous forklift experience
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Lumber experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Inventories materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed.
- Keeps record of inventory.
