About The Position

Alpert & Alpert Iron & Metal Inc. is a family-owned company specializing in non-ferrous recycling. With a commitment to sustainability and innovation, we play a vital role in the recycling industry by processing various metals and materials. We are looking for a Forklift Operator for our Long Beach facility. This is a full-time, fully on-site union position, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with possible overtime.

Requirements

Ability to operate a forklift
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to listen to directions and execute instructions
Ability to remove cable from electrical utility wheels with help of semi-automated de-reeling machine
Ability to count and fill out check list for inventory purposes
Ability to sweep area to keep clean and free of clutter or debris
Ability to work safely and adhere to company safety procedures
Ability to continuously stand or walk
Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
Ability to lift 40 lbs

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift to load and unload items
Work in a team environment, listen to directions, and execute instructions
Remove cable from electrical utility wheels with help of semi-automated de-reeling machine
Count and fill out check list for inventory purposes
Sweep area to keep clean and free of clutter or debris
Work safely and adhere to company safety procedures
Continuously stand or walk
Bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
Lift 40 lbs
Perform other duties as assigned
