About The Position

Under general supervision, the Lift Truck Operator ensures the safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products and/or packaging materials. The role uses equipment including Raymond stand-up forklifts, Raymond stand-up dock loaders, and various sit-down LP trucks. The position is based at the Harrisonburg CPAD8 Dry Warehouse and offers compensation of $19.15 to $21.90 per hour. The available schedule is a rotating 12-hour night shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with work every other weekend.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of sit-down forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with RFID.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to read numbers and labels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
• Qualified candidates must have related experience.
• Must complete an application to be considered.
• Pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical are required.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment through personal actions.
• Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently using provided equipment.
• Check and count freight for accuracy and damage.
• Take inventory as needed.
• Direct products to the correct area in the warehouse.
• Clear the work area of loose wood and plastic and sweep as needed.
• Report faulty equipment, rack damage, and other safety hazards to a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
