About The Position
This position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the CAS Forklift throughout the production day. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
Requirements
- Must be able to successfully complete fork lift drivers training
- Ability to operate forklift efficiently, within safety guidelines, in all weather conditions
- Ability to work safely and effectively around moving machinery
- Ability to perform a daily safety inspection of the equipment and record data
- Basic maintenance skills required
- Must adhere to CAS Department Animal Welfare Standards and practices
- Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required
- Must be able to work independently to make required decisions
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a meat processing facility preferred
- Forklift driving experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Remove cages from semi for slaughter
- Place on dumping rollers
- Remove emptied cages and return to semi
- Handle birds according to departmental Animal Welfare Standards
- Responsible for daily pre-trip inspection of forklift and minor repairs throughout production day
- Other duties as assigned
