About The Position

Established in 2004, Select Finishing is a leader in the finishing and coatings industry with over two decades of excellence in powder, e-coating, and liquid finishes. We're known for our commitment to safety, quality, and strict adherence to ISO and AAMA standards. This is a replacement role in the Production Department. The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a lift truck in order to move product throughout the facility. They will be responsible for potentially moving product (racks, bins, skids) into and out of trailers, to and from the production lines, and into and out of designated WIP areas all while upholding the Health and Safety expectations set out by Select Finishing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification/license is required.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Basic math, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with inventory systems or scanners is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of a Lift Truck as per certification, OHSA requirements and Select Finishing expectations.
  • Ensure lift truck is maintained daily and in safe operating condition.
  • Replenishing bins of product and remove empty bins from the loading station of the paint line.
  • Replenish empty bins and remove painted products from the unload station of the paint line.
  • Move bins / skids throughout the facility in order to maintain inventory levels in WIP, paint line, and the warehouse area.
  • Assist in physical inventories as required and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate activities.
  • Assist in identifying, labelling, and placing materials and supplies in stock as required.
  • Assist in keeping the facility clean and organized.
  • Follows all Select Finishing health and safety policies and procedures and manufacturer instructions, including using appropriate PPE for tasks assigned.
  • Report all health, safety and quality concerns or incidents to the Production Supervisor.
  • Identify and report any problems or concerns to the Supervisor.
