About The Position

This position works at Abbott Nutrition’s Altavista, Virginia location, receiving and handling warehouse materials. Abbott’s Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages. The Altavista plant is a large nutrition manufacturing facility equipped with advanced technology.

The operator uses the Cambar/MITS system to select finished goods and raw materials in support of FEFO, receives and labels materials in MITS, and stores, picks, assembles, and stages warehouse materials. The role requires compliance with FDA and OSHA standards and Abbott policies and procedures. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to operate a forklift and obtain a forklift driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Use the Cambar/MITS system to select finished goods and raw materials in support of FEFO.
• Store, pick, or assemble materials, verifying commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
• Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills, and other relevant documentation for accuracy and conformity.
• Store raw materials in assigned warehouse areas.
• Remove visibly damaged products before storage and return them to the appropriate processing area.
• Label and receive raw materials into the MITS system.
• Stage labels and complete the label-control portion of work orders.
• Meet compliance standards, including FDA and OSHA requirements and Abbott policies and procedures.
