About The Position

To efficiently, accurately and safely handle, transport, load, unload, store and retrieve all incoming and outgoing raw materials, chemicals, components and finished goods.

Requirements

  • Certifications needed to operate truck, motor vehicle, fork lift, or other required items
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand shipping/receiving documents mandated government regulations regarding weights, measures, and handling of hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to write reports, effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers and trucking personnel.
  • Ability to work with, understand and interpret mathematical values/totals relating to allowable minimum/maximum limits regarding shipping weights, measures, costs/charges. Etc.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Verify uncertain situations, ask questions, do not guess.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a pre-condition of employment.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) is desirable
  • one (1) to two (2) years successful experience and/or training as a forklift operator.
  • some knowledge and/or experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, or combination there of

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming materials, stage materials in designated area(s).
  • Properly load outgoing finished goods onto trucks, or designated transport vehicle.
  • Check all shipments to certify that they contain the ordered items, correct quantities, weights, measures, lots, pallets, etc.
  • Reviews, examines carrier shipping documents to verify accuracy.
  • Signs and delivers documents to Supervisor.
  • Stage incoming chemicals in quarantine area.
  • Stage in-process components to designated area upon release by Quality Control.
  • Ensure all finished goods in storage are adequately safeguarded and protected to prevent loss, deterioration or damage.
  • Transport pallets to/from production, or other areas as needed.
  • Transport finished goods pallets to wrapper machine, then to designated shipping area.
  • Inspect pallets to ascertain condition. Broken/damaged pallets are returned to vendor for credit. Intact pallets are staged for reuse.
  • Checks quantities, cases, tags, and labels of finished goods from production line.
  • On a daily basis, at the start of each work shift inspects forklift and completes safety checklist.
  • Performs regular internal audit of stored materials.
  • Prepares regular designated finished good for transfer to offsite warehouse.
  • Responsible for consistent observance of GMP, SOP, and Safety procedures.
