About The Position

Ryder is hiring a temporary-to-permanent Warehouse Material Handler in Plainfield, Indiana. The role handles aerospace products in a warehouse and uses a forklift or other warehouse machinery. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pay is $21.00 per hour, increasing to $24.49 after three months, with weekly pay. Ryder provides paid on-the-job training and safety gear, and emphasizes a safe supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment and supportive leadership.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to input data into a computer system.
Work overtime as assigned.
Some assignments may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
Identify damaged product during the warehousing process and take appropriate action.
Accurately pull assigned orders.
Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked and their stage location.
Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation while maintaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
Follow location and work-center safety and security policies and procedures.
Train others in warehouse functions, including safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment, when required.
Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
