About The Position

The Forklift Operator position is responsible for the shipping, receiving, and warehousing of raw materials and finished goods. This role involves transferring materials required by production to and from tempering rooms and freezer warehouse storage areas, staging materials for tempering and microwave processes, and directing material flow to manufacturing using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methodology. The operator will also order, receive, and transfer products for production and administrative personnel from the dry warehouse and other dry storage areas. The position requires the ability to maintain and use forklift-mounted and hand-held RF equipment, provide physical inventory cycle counts, resolve discrepancies, and communicate issues affecting inventory. The work environment involves extreme temperatures ranging from 4°F to 12°F, and team members must be willing and able to lift up to 70lbs when required. Adherence to GMP standards and safety guidelines is mandatory, along with reporting any deficiencies that could compromise food safety.

Requirements

  • Must have at least three (3) months of warehouse experience.
  • Must have 6 months of work history with one employer in the last 24 months.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 70lbs when required.
  • Must adhere to all GMP standards and safety guidelines.
  • Must report all possible deficiencies that could compromise food safety.

  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks with designated raw materials or finished goods.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and T.Q.C. guidelines.
  • Generate required reports and pick lists.
  • Ensure raw materials are in the proper condition in accordance with company policy (covered, uncovered, free of debris, sealed, taped, and wrapped).
  • Ensure proper labeling of material being moved.
  • Key transfer sheet transactions via CRT terminal.
  • Clean interior and exterior docks on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain and use forklift-mounted and hand-held R.F. equipment.
  • Provide physical inventory cycle counts, resolve discrepancies, and communicate issues that affect inventory.
