About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring a full-time Forklift Operator for its Kansas City, Kansas facility. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods and materials into and throughout the plant using the facility’s material management systems. Starting pay is $24.75 per hour. The position is on 1st shift. Applicants must document their relevant experience on their application. The location is not accepting rehires of former Tyson Foods employees at this time. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the stated physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation. Background checks may be required for certain roles. Hourly applicants must complete an additional task after submitting an application to provide information for consideration.

Requirements

At least 6 months of forklift experience, documented on the application.
At least 6 months of continuous work within the last 3 years.
Ability to perform basic math skills.
Ability to draw conclusions based on analysis of data from multiple sources.
Ability to bend, twist, and stand for long periods.
Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for long periods.
Ability to stand 8–12 hours per day on a hard floor.
Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a continuous-improvement environment by participating in activities such as line-side problem solving.
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to support a safe, organized work environment.
Scan inventory movements into Vehicle Mounted Units and interpret data output to support pull-system integrity.
Operate powered trucks in accordance with safety guidelines.
Work currently available shifts, overtime, and weekends if required.
