About The Position

The Forklift Operator - Packaging is responsible for supporting plant operations through the safe and efficient movement of materials, inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility. This role ensures inventory accuracy, maintains proper product rotation practices, and supports production teams by delivering materials when needed. The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production flow and operational efficiency in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a company-issued forklift certification.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift experience in a warehouse, receiving, inventory, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely to move materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks in accordance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Stage and deliver dry goods and other materials to production departments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through system transactions and documentation.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and inventory management using FIFO practices.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas to promote efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Verify materials are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  • Support production teams to help maintain continuous workflow and plant operations.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties and maintain clean, organized work areas.
