About The Position

The Forklift Operator I operates material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse. The role may also include order filling or order checking duties. The operator is expected to use forklifts safely and efficiently while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and compliance with safety procedures.

Requirements

Must qualify for and pass NFI forklift certification.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective customer service skills.
Basic math competencies.
Basic understanding of equipment safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months of forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with established work practices and safety procedures.
Complete and document required pre-operation equipment inspection forms.
Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment.
Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations.
Pull and prepare products for shipment according to customer and operational requirements.
Verify that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped.
Perform accurate, timely order picking with a focus on customer service.
Move products from staging or storage areas into trailers for outbound loads.
Maintain required documentation and reports to support inventory accuracy and product security.
Assist with physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts as directed.
Rotate inventory in accordance with company standards.
Identify and report inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and participate in their resolution.
Use RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management.
Promptly report safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to management.
Use basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency to complete required tasks.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management.
