Forklift Operator - Cold Storage

About The Position

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Warehouse facility in Grand Falls, NB. Please note, this position is physically demanding and requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, on a 4-on 4-off basis (2 days, 2 nights). This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic, and noisy environment that demands a high level of alertness and adaptability. The role involves regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting items up to 35 to 40lbs. Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts. The ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Basic computer skills would be an asset.
Ability to work well with warehouse supervision and production employees.
Team player with excellent attendance.
Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly.
Demonstrate continuous initiative and involvement.
Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.

Responsibilities

Pick up and store pallets coming from production.
To break other operators for scheduled breaks or as required.
Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in their assigned area.
Follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Advise supervision of any safety issues including misuse of lift trucks, within their work environment.
Load trailers at shipping on sanitation days.
Actively look for ways to improve safety.
Actively look for ways to improve overall Cold Storage operation.
Work with WMS.
All other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
