About The Position

The Forklift Operator Level 2 performs intermediate material-handling duties requiring the operation of sit-down, or stand-up forklifts to move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the facility. This position requires a solid understanding of safety protocols and production support needs.

Requirements

Basic math, language, and reading skills.
Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
Knowledgeable in all areas and aspects of competencies in warehouse operations.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 – 2 years of forklift operating experience in a food production or warehouse environment.
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
Satisfactorily pass company’s forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Work in cold wet or refrigerated environments as required.
WORK WITH LIMITED SUPERVISION
DEMONSTRATE ADVANCED FORKLIFT HANDLING (DOUBLE STACKING, NARROW AISLES, DOCK LOADING)
SUPPORT MULTIPLE SHIFT OPERATIONS

Responsibilities

Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
Perform accurate product scanning, labeling, and inventory movement using handheld or warehouse management systems (WMS).
Ensure correct rotation of inventory (FIFO) and maintain clean, organized storage areas.
Communicate effectively with Operation Supervisors, Leads and other members of management.
Employees must comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Reports mechanical or electrical difficulties to maintenance.
Assist in cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
Performs other related duties as requested.
