About The Position

The Forklift Operator Level 2 performs intermediate material-handling duties requiring the operation of sit-down, or stand-up forklifts to move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the facility. This position requires a solid understanding of safety protocols and production support needs.

Requirements

  • Basic math, language, and reading skills.
  • Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
  • Knowledgeable in all areas and aspects of competencies in warehouse operations.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of forklift operating experience in a food production or warehouse environment.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Satisfactorily pass company’s forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work in cold wet or refrigerated environments as required.

  • DEMONSTRATE ADVANCED FORKLIFT HANDLING (DOUBLE STACKING, NARROW AISLES, DOCK LOADING)
  • SUPPORT MULTIPLE SHIFT OPERATIONS

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
  • Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
  • Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
  • Perform accurate product scanning, labeling, and inventory movement using handheld or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Ensure correct rotation of inventory (FIFO) and maintain clean, organized storage areas.
  • Communicate effectively with Operation Supervisors, Leads and other members of management.
  • Employees must comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Reports mechanical or electrical difficulties to maintenance.
  • Assist in cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
