About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Jacksonville Distribution Center is currently seeking a Forklift Operations Associate. Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated leaders, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to wood products in the yard/warehouse. The shift will start at 8:00am. There is room for overtime and you can also drive your base pay rate higher as you master more and more skills. Medical, dental and gainsharing benefits will also apply for all eligible employees. The pay rate is $19.29 to $22.58 per hour depending on experience. Overtime may be required if operating conditions warrant. As a reminder, this role requires regular movement throughout the shift, which means regular periods of standing, sitting, walking, and sliding/moving up to 100 pounds, and operating equipment outdoors in all types of weather.

Requirements

Ability to learn and master the operation of a chainsaw and forklift
Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
Ability to work with within a team to solve customer problems and complete general tasks
Willing to work outside, regularly moving, in the elements five days a week and occasional weekends
Ability to continuously work while standing, sitting, and driving equipment throughout the day.
Ability to work, while lifting up to 50lbs
Ability to work, while moving and sliding up to 100lbs
Basic computer skills
High school diploma or GED required
A proven track record of successful performance at school and work
Prior forklift operating experience in an industrial, warehouse, or yard environment.
Experience working outdoors in ever changing weather conditions while safely performing job duties.
