About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, replacing faulty parts, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of forklift systems, components, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and structural integrity, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and minimizing operational disruptions. This position also includes driving to pick up supplies and managing work orders and maintenance logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of forklift systems and components.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.

Nice To Haves

• Technical certification or training in forklift maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with forklifts.
• Replace faulty parts and components as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Assist with other maintenance tasks as required.
• Work with hydraulic systems, maintain electrical systems, and check for structural problems.
• Develop and follow a scheduled maintenance plan for all machines.
• Troubleshoot issues as they occur.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts.
• Work to ensure mechanical problems affect warehouse operations as rarely as possible.
• Drive around to pick up supplies.
• Record work-orders and maintenance logs to track the history of each forklift.
