Summary: Responsible for maintaining and repairing forklifts.

Requirements

• Pass Mechanical Lift Test and Welding Test
• Have goods mechanical knowledge of forklifts and related equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, lubricating equipment and electrical and gas welding and burring apparatus.
• Requires the ability to bend, lift, carry, push and pull varying weights up to 40 pounds, sometimes in awkward positions.
• Requires ability to climb ladders and operation of high risers.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and overhaul plant forklift trucks.
• Repair and maintain plant material handling equipment
• Repair and maintain dock levelers and doors.
• Keep records of lift maintenance.
• Maintain supply of parts and advise proper personnel when stock runs low.
• Inspect and test drive to determine defects and make repairs.
• Clean and paint as required.
• Assist machinist and electricians as required.
