Forklift Mechanic - Shop
About The Position
Wolter Inc. is looking for a Shop Mechanic to join their team in Bolingbrook, IL. This position will be responsible for supporting the Service Department. The Shop Mechanic will complete assigned service jobs with expert precision, document and recommend additional repairs, collaborate with the Shop Foreman on customer quotes, and communicate with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and/or Shop Service Manager for technical assistance. The role also involves attending service training classes, submitting daily paperwork promptly, maintaining shop organization and cleanliness, assisting fellow shop technicians, and prioritizing safety.
Requirements
- Experience as a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or Forklift Mechanic/Technician.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience fixing forklift trucks and other products we represent, including LP Gas, diesel, and electric trucks.
- Successful completion of required training courses.
- Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
- Ownership of tools necessary for repairs, as per the recommended tool list.
- Certification to operate material handling equipment.
- Wholehearted commitment to the company's vision and mission.
Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned service jobs with expert precision.
- Document and recommend additional repairs, collaborating with the Shop Foreman to prepare customer quotes.
- Communicate seamlessly with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and/or Shop Service Manager for any technical assistance or unusual service challenges.
- Attend service training classes to stay ahead on new products and refresh your knowledge.
- Submit daily paperwork promptly, including timecards and maintenance reports.
- Keep the shop organized and spotless.
- Offer a helping hand to fellow shop techs when needed.
- Always prioritize safety, following rules and policies diligently.
