About The Position

RJW Logistics Group is seeking a Forklift Material Handler to operate forklifts safely and efficiently in the Inbound/Outbound Department. This role involves handling all freight, maintaining the warehouse area, loading/unloading trucks and trailers, staging and checking shipments, and storing stock properly. The position supports warehouse shipping and receiving activities, including picking customer orders and loading trailers using warehouse operations sheets and a forklift, while always adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

Ability to operate sit down forklift work.
General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Attention to detail and quality is a must.
Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
Flexibility in working overtime when needed and supplying coverage to other shifts.
PC skills are helpful.
Major experience forklifts.
Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
Experience in cross docking freight process.
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse.
1+ years of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using a forklift (reach, walkie rider, sit-down, cherry/order picker).
Good stable work record.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
Must be able to work more than 8 continuous hours when required.
Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
Always wearing of seatbelts when operating the forklift.

Nice To Haves

Warehousing certifications a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently for the Inbound/Outbound Department.
Handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly.
Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
Load and unload RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures.
Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
Properly store stock in the warehouse.
Provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving handling activities.
Use warehouse operations sheets and a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
Maintain forklift safety following all safety policies and procedures.
Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into storage racks.
Record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage, alerting the Warehouse Supervisor of any problems and taking pictures if necessary.
Report all accidents/incidents, to employees, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment.
Maintain access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
