About The Position

The Forklift Operator/Machine Operator (Production Area) supports the safe, efficient and productive set up, maintenance, and operations of machinery and forklifts. This includes general maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, sample retrieval, power washing, lifting and hauling items, dumping rework, and preparing and packaging product as required or assigned by supervisor. Stratas Foods is a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies and Archer Daniels Midland Company, specializing in fats and oils solutions for Food Service, Food Ingredient, and Retail sectors. They aim to be the most valued supplier in the private label retail bottled oils market in the United States.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge in operating Forklift and Machine utilizing in manufacture environment
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Must be trained and certified on the forklift.
  • Trained and able to demonstrate hazardous chemical handling.
  • Proficient in the operation of the stretch wrappers.
  • Must be proficient with a forklift on all operations lines.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to complete and make changes to pick sheets.
  • Must have basic operational knowledge of roll up doors.
  • Must be able to understand the inventory procedure.
  • Trained and able to demonstrate pallet transfer operations.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to reconcile finished product.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of equipment on the line.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling procedures including PPE required.
  • Knowledge of process flow and ability to trace flow from source tank to filling process.
  • Basic understanding of pumps, valves, and how to change filters.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the safe, efficient and productive set up, maintenance, and operations of machinery and forklifts.
  • Performs general maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication (oiling, greasing, etc.) of machinery and forklifts.
  • Retrieves samples and performs power washing.
  • Lifts and hauls items up and down stairs.
  • Dumps rework and prepares packaging.
  • Packages product as required or assigned by supervisor.
  • Inspects machines to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Sets up manufacturing equipment.
  • Keeps lines stocked with packaging materials.
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork related to CCP’s, production, and packaging materials.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and repair of packaging equipment.
  • Communicates with supervisor when the line is down due to equipment or product supply.
  • Communicates with supervisor and leads when equipment needs attention.
  • Reports/resolves any observed quality issues while operating the line.
  • Performs proper start up, running, and shut down of the line.
  • Performs proper tear down, cleaning, and reassembling of pumps, sanitary lines, and line equipment.
  • Understands chemical handling procedures including required PPE.
  • Understands process flow and can trace flow from source tank to filling process.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of pumps, valves, and how to change filters.
  • Must be trained and certified on the forklift.
  • Trained and able to demonstrate hazardous chemical handling.
  • Proficient in the operation of the stretch wrappers.
  • Proficient with a forklift on all operations lines.
  • Loads trucks in the prescribed manner.
  • Completes and makes changes to pick sheets.
  • Communicates with visitors and customers in a professional manner.
  • Has basic operational knowledge of roll up doors.
  • Understands the inventory procedure.
  • Trained and able to demonstrate pallet transfer operations.
  • Reconciles finished product.
