About The Position

The Forklift Operator works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities throughout the day. The primary responsibilities of this role include the moving and storing of materials based on production work orders. Requirements

At least three to five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Exposure/experience to manufacturing.
Forklift Certified.
Understands quality, PPE requirements and safety and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Collects and delivers raw materials, semi-finished and finished products.
Rotates stock, loads and unloads skids and bands material before moving product.
Identifies material to ensure that correct material is supplied.
Moves and stores materials and keep assigned areas supplied with material.
Works from schedules, production orders and instructions.
Clears and moves scrap.
Assists in other departments and works on the lines as necessary.
Maintains fork lift truck by placing on charge and notifying supervision when truck is not operating properly.
Completes daily fork safety inspection.
Completes cycle counts as required.
Maintains material storage areas as required.
Ensures all material is properly labeled prior to transport.
Attains a good understanding of HFI and mill claim processes.
Follows all safety rules and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Performs other duties as assigned.
