About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for Seasonal Forklift Dump Drivers to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a sit-down propane forklift; may use multiple types of attachments for the transport of containers including pallets, drums and bins. Follows all safety and food safety policies and procedures. Responsible for documenting paperwork at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically July – November.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift driver certified and able to pass a preliminary driving test, safety training, and daily evaluations for the first 30 days.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

Responsibilities

  • Always Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Must be able to stack product straight with a smooth and safe manner.
  • May dismantle, clean, and reassemble assigned production equipment as needed per standard operating procedure.
  • Checking the product before dumping
  • Weighing the fruit before dumping to ensure it is the correct amount.
