About The Position

The Industrial Forklift Operator is responsible for unloading and loading all inbound and outbound products, along with moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product within and throughout the warehouse. Requirements

  • Must have 2 or more years forklift experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is required.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • A basic working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, SAP.
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines.
  • Mobility to cover expansive manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Propane, gas, or diesel forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading and loading all inbound and outbound products.
  • Moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product within and throughout the warehouse.
  • Inspecting the technical condition of the Forklift and other handling equipment before starting work to determine the need for repairs to safely operate machinery.
  • Recording pre-use checks in the provided system or the vehicle logbook as required.
  • Reporting any faults and/or breakdowns of the Forklift to the Lead.
  • Checking the delivered quantities and condition of the goods, recording data on the receiving form accurately.
  • Unloading goods, packaging, raw materials and other from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places using FLT.
  • Completing orders for distribution, working to quality standards and provided instructions.
  • Ensuring each product pallet is secured for transit and labelled correctly.
  • Loading goods or other materials onto the truck for transportation in accordance with work security regulations/instructions using forklift.
  • Moving stock/goods using forklift throughout the warehouse according to instructions.
  • Using the SAP RFID scanning system equipment correctly following set orders and assigned tasks to ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Coordinating to ensure RF monitors are in good working order.
  • Transporting materials to the production department complying with FIFO procedures.
  • Operating low-lift pallet truck whenever there is a need for loading e.g. sea containers.
  • Cleaning fork-Lift-Trucks and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.
  • Performing general warehouse duties when the forklift is not required, including general housekeeping within the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
  • Selecting/sorting packaging materials when required and assisting with stock take.
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits as required.
  • Safely exchanging fork truck gas cylinders, refilling fuel tank, or replacing/recharging batteries (whichever applies).
  • Adhering to all plant GMP and BRC requirements.
  • Performing any other duty reasonably corresponding with the role.
