About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an experienced forklift driver to transport merchandise and materials throughout the club and assist with delivery truck loading and unloading. The role includes inspecting and receiving incoming merchandise, preparing pallets, stocking and storing merchandise, performing general maintenance and safety procedures, following club policies, and providing Members with a positive service experience. Forklift operating experience is preferred but not required; required training and certification must be completed successfully.

The position involves spending most of the time standing and moving continuously on hard surfaces. Work is generally in a comfortable environment, though team members work around moving machinery and loud equipment and may occasionally encounter temperature extremes in freezer or cooler units or cleaning agents. The role may involve lifting objects up to 50 pounds frequently and moving heavier or awkward objects with assistance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.

Nice To Haves

• Prior forklift operating experience is preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, is valued.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently; inspect it before use and follow established safety standards.
• Load and unload merchandise and materials to and from delivery trucks, and inspect and prepare trucks for unloading.
• Accurately receive merchandise and materials delivered to the club.
• Lift, reserve, and drop pallets between overhead steel and the sales floor.
• Prepare pallets for safe storage by wrapping, strapping, stacking, labeling, and correcting broken pallets.
• Transport merchandise, materials, and pallets safely throughout the club; use a pallet jack as needed.
• Stock, rotate, and store general and food merchandise, and ensure merchandise is fully stocked.
• Handle damaged and spoiled merchandise in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Keep the club neat, clean, and organized, including removing trash and cardboard.
• Participate in daily club openings and closings and return merchandise to the sales floor.
• Greet Members, provide prompt and courteous service, and assist them in locating merchandise.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties and work in other departments as needed.
