About The Position

Operate a forklift on the packaging floor in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves ensuring production lines are supplied with materials, maintaining forklift fluid levels, and communicating with team members. The operator must be safety-conscious, use correct materials, identify defective ones, and adhere to specific battery usage and pallet sorting guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Read and understand specification book and daily programs.
• Ability to react to schedule changes quickly.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Be a qualified forklift operator, must successfully complete training / certification, and maintain certification.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must work in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
• Safety glasses are required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift driver experience.

Responsibilities

• Keep lines provided with proper supply of materials on a timely basis.
• Properly inspect and maintain fluid levels of forklift.
• Communicate with line operators, crew leaders, and other forklift operators.
• Plan ahead.
• Be extremely safety conscious.
• Use correct materials.
• Identify defective materials.
• Use the battery that corresponds to their forklift number.
• Sort pallets by size and vendor in their assigned area of the packing floor.
• Other duties as assigned.
