About The Position

The Forklift Driver is responsible for transporting and stacking bins or pallets and processing equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient processing operation. This role also involves the use of a dumper and requires the ability to perform all forklift driving positions within the processing department.

Requirements

• Good lift truck driving skills and safe working habits.
• Ability to make quality decisions about condition of fruit.
• Properly check and maintain forklift.
• Must know different varieties of fruit.
• Be a qualified forklift operator.
• Must successfully complete training / certification, and maintain certification.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Follow all policies set forth in the Plant Employee Handbook, including GMP’s, safety regulations, and rules and regulations.
• Use good judgment and common sense at all times.

Responsibilities

• Transport and stack bins or pallets and processing equipment.
• Use dumper as necessary.
• Perform all forklift driving positions in processing.
• Store and transport fruit, keeping accurate track of it.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the department.
• Make quality decisions about the condition of fruit.
• Properly check and maintain the forklift.
• Ensure bins are not "banged" when dumping to loosen fruit.
• Properly fill out the Drivers Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.
