About The Position

We have an opening for a Full-Time position of Forklift Operator on Shift 2. When working in Receiving the main function of this job is to provide the prep room with a constant supply of cheese to ensure steady operation throughout the shift. Duties within Receiving include retrieving cheese from coolers, delivering it to the prep room and process room, and opening the forms. Another major facet of this job is receiving product and posting the product into SAP. When working in Distribution the duties include but is not limited to replenishing product in the cooler, assembling orders for customers, completing all required forms and documents, and maintaining all Warehouse locations. Attendance at all inventory counts is mandatory. People are at the heart of our success. Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years experience on stand up and/or sitdown forklift
  • Comfortable working in a cooler environment (temperatures around 2–4°C)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attendance
  • Must be available for all weekend inventory counts.
  • Must be self-starters and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of cheese and cheese products, comprehension of product quality requirements and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a distribution environment and using RF scanning equipment would be an asset.
  • The use of manual material handling equipment would be beneficial.
  • The successful applicant will receive forklift training (if they are not already certified) and must write and pass a written test.
  • Demonstrate a desire for continuous improvement in all processes.

  • Applicants must be able to work in the coolers for varying lengths of time.
  • The successful applicant must be reliable.
  • Ability to complete all documents accurately and completely in a timely manner.
  • Any other warehousing duties as assigned.
  • Completion of inventory records
  • Participate in all inventory counts.
  • Verify product received against packing slips (quantity, type, quality, etc.)
  • Post receipts into SAP
