About The Position

The Forklift Operator I moves materials between inventory and production, and supplies production departments with materials according to the production schedule. The role also maintains required paperwork and production records, helps meet production material needs, and keeps the material and finished-goods inventory yard organized and clean.

Requirements

Minimum 9th-grade basic education.
Successfully complete the Forklift Driver licensing process.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Forklift driving experience preferred; no minimum experience is required.
Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

Move material in process from one station to another when necessary.
Band, wrap, and/or pack finished goods and label material.
Move finished goods from the production area to the finished-goods inventory yard or warehouse.
Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
Complete the pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report problems or concerns.
Maintain an organized and clean rough-material and finished-goods inventory yard.
Complete production records as required.
Follow forklift rules and policies described by Company policy.
Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
Perform other duties as required.
