Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass Powered Industrial Vehicle Exam or hold current re-certification.
  • 1+ year(s) experience operating PIV in similar environment
  • Certified Powered Industrial Vehicle License (or the skill and ability to obtain one) required.
  • Maintains current knowledge of powered industrial vehicle operation, SAP inventory systems, and material handling procedures.
  • Emphasizes accuracy and consistency in material handling; supports continuous improvement by identifying and reporting quality issues promptly.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms. Listens actively and promotes open communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Gathers relevant information, considers multiple factors, and applies sound judgment when making decisions. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
  • Adapts quickly to new processes, procedures, and technologies. Eager to learn and apply new skills to improve performance.
  • Seeks opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth. Responds positively to feedback and strives for continuous improvement.
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Computes rates, ratios, and percentages, and interprets bar graphs accurately.
  • Reads and interprets safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence clearly and accurately.
  • Working knowledge of SAP inventory systems preferred; capable of basic data entry and material tracking.
  • Demonstrates dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates a powered industrial truck (forklift) to transport, load, unload, and stack materials and products throughout the facility.
  • Operates internal combustion or electric-powered forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack materials or products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transports and supplies production areas with materials as required.
  • Accurately enters and removes materials from the SAP inventory system as they are handled.
  • Follows all plant safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Performs routine inspections and minor maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Completes documentation such as tags, reports, and job cards accurately.

  • Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required on the manufacturing floor.
  • Full welding gear must be worn when exposed to welding flash, heat, or sparks.
  • Environmental aspects of the job include propane use in forklifts, exhaust exposure from gas-powered equipment, and disposal of paper and office materials in compliance with environmental standards.
  • Following all Tenneco safety policies and procedures is a must
