About The Position

Pratt Industries of Wichita is filling a position at our warehouse in the Kansas City area. The physical location of the facility is 6810 Orville Ave. Kansas City, Kansas. The role involves moving various sized units and or products from various sources to the next staging area. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of unit locations, performing basic equipment maintenance, and general housekeeping duties. The position also requires assisting general operations when needed.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Experience as a forklift operator
  • Must be capable of getting forklift certified and very safety conscious.
  • Must have the ability to maintain and or identify equipment maintenance needs.
  • Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, tape measure, and time management skills are needed.
  • Must be able to function in extreme temperatures and must be available for weekend work schedules.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications.
  • Working knowledge of product quality specifications.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards.
  • Will be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years forklift operation preferred.
  • Experience with “scanner” or “barcode” warehouse management inventory systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Moving various sized units and or products from various sources to the next staging area.
  • Maintaining accurate records as to the location of each unit moved.
  • Performing basic equipment maintenance and general housekeeping duties.
  • Assisting general operations when needed.
